Holdem Tactics
Saturday, 13. March 2010
Almost every Holdem poker game can have a tactic. One has to figure out a policy that’ll help you win the game. Unfortunately, not all strategies work.
When planning a tactic there are many details that has to be thought about. One factor is the number of competitors, and how mild or aggressive the players at the poker table are. You’ll need to be more careful in bigger games. Another factor is your bank balance. You will want to bet very thoroughly and select a hand very tactfully if you have a bankroll balance of only a few dollars.
We spend little or no time in thinking and planning the game when we are away from the table, as we spend all of our time competing. One often overlooked point is to know our own strengths and limitations. Tiny errors can accumulate, and when the games are harder these smallest of errors can flip on us and move us from the winning spot to the losing. So in place of aimlessly gambling, we must pickup strategy that might be to our advantage.
You must always keep in mind that competing in all hands does not actually make you a success. You need to be selective in your wagering and your cards. You need to bet smaller but better hands then your competitors. For this you have to take anticipated and planned risks and back them strongly. You must wait for the correct cards, and when you have them, you have to go for the neck.
