Concentrate on Annie Duke

Friday, 15. January 2010

Annie Duke might not have came away with her 1st World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but Annie is one of the most powerful poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "young crowd" of poker run wild following a huge win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mommy" to her four kids. She hails from New Hampshire and was raised into a family of poker players. If you don’t believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught her how to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small change girl and has captured her cut of difficult matches, which includes knocking out Howard a few times on several occasions.

Winning well over three million dollars in tournament play, Annie became a advisor to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who aspired to sharpen his skills and become a force at the poker table.

You might observe her at the Bellagio, you will see her on TV and you might just even compete against her in an online poker game, but do not expect an easy win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
